O' The Places You'll Go - Theatre Tour with Harris Tweed

Since the release of their debut in 2006, beloved folk-popsters, Harris Tweed, have won the hearts of many South African music-lovers and earned their place as one of SA's top acts. Their firm friends and fellow Joburgers, Zebra & Giraffe, have been causing quite a stir following the release of their debut, 'Collected Memories', and the success of its first single, 'The Knife', countrywide.

Zebra & Giraffe is the brainchild of 24-year-old Greg Carlin, a talented writer and musician who played almost all the instruments on 'Collected Memories'. His impressive debut was produced by Harris Tweed's own Darryl Torr, and features a haunting guest vocal by the duo's songstress, Cherilyn MacNeil. Greg has gathered a troupe of troubadours and they have been toiling feverishly in the rehearsal studio preparing to perform Carlin's alternative electro-rock masterpieces on stage.

The Tweeds, as they are fondly dubbed, have also been working on a new record of their own, and this highly anticipated follow-up to their debut, 'The Younger', is planned for release at the end of August. The pair brought out Brent Knopf of experimental Portland based band, Menomena, to produce the album with them. The result is a delightful marriage of heart-felt, accessible songs with some really left-of-centre arrangements.

These two exciting acts have joined forces to bring the South African public, 'O The Places You'll Go' - a powerful musical experience played out on some of the country's finest theatre stages. These up-and-comers are constantly aiming to push boundaries in order to produce a thrilling live experience for their fans, and this promises to be no exception.

All shows start promptly at 8pm and tickets cost R80. Book your tickets at www.webtickets.co.za to avoid disappointment.

Well its the morning after the first Z&G video shoot - a few bleeding fingers and a sore back but nothing serious! To be honest, it exceeded my wildest expectations! The crew was super pro, the cast was great and crazy and I even impressed myself with my harcore acting skills!
